single from forthcoming EP ' verse murmurs '

i acquired this old Tempo guitar from maybe a gas-station/antique shop some 10 years ago. the spookiest songs spring forth - that's why i keep it around. one of the tuning pegs had fallen off. so, instead of fixing it straight away, that stubborn peg was the one to which every other string had to tune. the wonk tuning and metallic tone opened me up to write this reflection on stay-at-home orders, feeling far away from family on the central California coast — the fields, the waters, the trees.

The line from Leonard Cohen's 'coming back to you' really hit.
