the passing of animals has been a deep grief point that has brought to the surface a handful of songs in the pandemic era. an eerie recording on a prophetic morning, anticipating somehow the loss of a beloved farm dog to a hit and run. i suppose we must always be ready for spirits to leave physical forms that we come to love.

this song is dedicated to Prince, the aussie shepherd dog of Sunbow Farm, whose burred fur was a delight to untangle.
